RETA Mühendislik manages the design, production, and installation of industrial rack systems for production facilities, supplier warehouses, and export warehouses in Bursa under a single point of responsibility. Founded in 1979, the company manufactures its systems in its own production facility in Manisa Muradiye OIZ and serves Bursa through its Marmara regional organization.
Three Distinct Manufacturing Cultures in Bursa, Three Distinct Storage Needs
Bursa hosts so many different production branches within the same provincial borders that it cannot be defined by a single industrial identity, and this situation fundamentally differentiates storage needs.
Automotive main and supplier industry facilities concentrated in Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone, Bursa Organized Industrial Zone, Hasanağa Organized Industrial Zone, and the Kestel line operate in a system that feeds sequenced parts to the main industry. The deciding factor here is not the total pallet capacity, but the delivery of the correct part to the line at the correct hour. Line-side stock areas, box-based picking arrangements, and pre-shipment buffer stock zones are the common needs of these facilities.
The picture changes in textile and apparel facilities around Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone and Bursa Textile Dyehouses Specialized Organized Industrial Zone. Roll fabric, bobbin, and semi-finished product storage are both bulky and irregularly sized; standard pallet bays often do not fit these loads, and bay dimensions are designed according to the product.
For furniture manufacturers around İnegöl Organized Industrial Zone and İnegöl Furniture Woodworking Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, the focus is on sheet, chipboard, MDF, and lumber storage. These materials are long, heavy, and have sensitive surfaces; they must be stored with spans that will not cause sagging during horizontal transport. In export warehouses along the Gemlik and Bursa Free Zone line, operations are set up according to the shipment schedule, making the efficient use of warehouse height paramount.
In the Rhythm of Main Industry, Access Time Comes Before Capacity
In a facility operating in the automotive supply chain, the warehouse is an extension of the production line rather than just a place where stock is kept. The shipment window is narrow, and the cost of delay is high. For this reason, rack design in Bursa's supplier industry facilities is established to minimize access time instead of maximizing the number of pallets per square meter.
In practice, this leads to the following decisions: high-turnover references are positioned in the band that the operator can reach without bending or using ladders, while low-turnover stock is moved to the upper levels. Aisle widths are evaluated against order picking frequency before being narrowed in favor of high-density storage, because the space gained may not compensate for the lost access speed. The pre-shipment buffer stock area is included in the layout plan from the very beginning.
Bursa is also among the provinces with high spectral acceleration values in the earthquake regulation. Upright profiles, anchoring details, and bracing patterns are dimensioned according to the seismic parameters of the region. Static calculations are performed separately for each project, and proposals are not made based on catalog capacity.
Featured Systems in Bursa Facilities
For sheet, lumber, and profile storage in furniture and woodworking facilities along the İnegöl line, cantilever rack systems are used. Arm length and the spacing between arms are determined based on the sagging behavior of the material, while the choice of single- or double-sided uprights is made according to the aisle layout.
For line-side feeding and order picking in automotive supplier industry facilities, carton flow rack systems are preferred. Level heights are adjusted according to the operator's reach level, and high-turnover parts are placed in the waist-level band to shorten picking time.
In export warehouses and textile facilities along the Gemlik line, pallet rack systems are designed according to pallet size, forklift type, and clear height. Euro pallets (800x1200 mm) and industrial pallets (1000x1200 mm) require different bay depths and beam spans; for non-standard loads like roll fabric, bay dimensions are designed according to the product.
In warehouses where ceiling height cannot be fully utilized, mezzanine rack systems double or triple the available space. Press and injection molds are managed with mold rack systems, while facilities with high stock turnover rates are managed with automated storage AS/RS solutions. All system types can be found on the rack systems page.
Bursa Warehouse Rack Systems Discovery and Proposal Process
To get a layout plan and price quotation for your facility in Bursa, reach out via the contact page. Completed applications in different sectors are featured on our projects page.
Design, Production, and Installation Process
The process begins with an on-site discovery at the facility. Floor condition and flatness, column axes, clear ceiling height, sprinkler and lighting layout, forklift type used, and pallet dimensions are recorded. Based on this data, a layout plan and capacity calculation are prepared, followed by the static calculation and technical drawing.
The approved project is manufactured at the facility in Muradiye OIZ, and installation is carried out on-site by our own teams. Since the warehouse can be worked in stages, installation can be completed without stopping the enterprise's shipment and production flow. Load capacity labels and usage instructions are provided upon delivery. The scope also includes expanding existing systems, moving them to another facility, and replacing damaged components.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Bursa Rack Systems
Which system is suitable for furniture production facilities in İnegöl?
Cantilever systems are used for long materials with sensitive surfaces such as sheets, chipboard, MDF, and lumber. The span between arms is calculated according to the thickness and sagging behavior of the material, and surface contact can be cushioned. Additionally, pallet or box-based bays are planned for boxed finished products and accessories.
How is installation carried out in a facility operating in shifts?
The warehouse is worked on in stages, and the installation program is set up according to the facility's shift and shipment hours. In facilities that feed sequenced parts to the main industry, the empty section is commissioned first, stock is moved gradually, and then installation continues in the vacated area.
Can bays be designed for loads other than standard pallets?
Yes, they can. For roll fabric, bobbins, irregularly sized finished products, or single heavy parts, the bay depth, beam span, and carrying surface are determined according to the load. In this case, size and weight information must be collected accurately during the discovery phase.
What information should I prepare to receive a proposal?
Warehouse area and clear ceiling height, pallet dimensions and weight per pallet, target number of bays, forklift type used, and the existing layout plan (if any) are sufficient. A preliminary evaluation can be made with this information, while the final proposal is formed after discovery and static calculation.
Can you relocate our existing racks to our new warehouse?
After evaluating the system type, age, load to be carried, and deformation in the components, dismantling and re-installing is possible. If the floor load capacity, ceiling height, or column axes of the new facility are different, reinforcement or partial renewal may be required.
