RETA Mühendislik manages the design, production, and installation of industrial rack systems for production facilities, sub-industry warehouses, and distribution warehouses in Sakarya under a single responsibility. Founded in 1979, the company manufactures its systems in its own production facility in Manisa Muradiye OIZ and serves Sakarya through its Marmara regional organization.
Production Structure Determining Warehousing Needs in Sakarya
Sakarya industry differs from neighboring provinces by being shaped around a single main industry center, and this situation directly reflects on the warehousing needs.
The automotive main industry in the Arifiye and Hendek line and the sub-industry facilities clustered around it form the decisive production branch of the province. Since these facilities operate in a sequence that feeds serial parts to the main industry, the warehouse is an extension of the production line rather than an area where stock is kept. Line-side feeding areas, box-based picking arrangements, and intermediate stock areas before shipping are common needs.
In the vicinity of Sakarya 1st Organized Industrial Zone, Sakarya 2nd Organized Industrial Zone, and Ferizli Organized Industrial Zone, machinery, metal processing, packaging, and food production are side by side. Here, raw materials and finished product stocks are often managed under the same roof, and different load types must be resolved in a single layout plan.
The warehouse and intermediate storage needs, which have increased with the effect of port investments in the Karasu and Kaynarca line, together with the distribution warehouses around Adapazarı, form the second pillar of the province. In these facilities, efficient use of free ceiling height and correct planning of slots close to the shipping door come to the fore. For wood products and furniture manufacturers in the Hendek and Akyazı line, sheet and lumber storage is a separate design item.
Rack Safety in a Province on the Fault Line
Sakarya is one of the provinces most severely affected by the 1999 earthquake and is located among the regions with the highest spectral acceleration values in the earthquake regulation. Structural safety in production facilities in the region cannot be evaluated as limited to the building itself.
A fully loaded pallet rack is not equipment that can be considered independent of the building under these conditions, but is a load-bearing structure in its own right. In the event of a collapse, employee safety, stock loss, and closure of evacuation routes within the building are all at stake. Therefore, upright profiles, anchorage details, vertical and horizontal bracing systems, and beam connections are dimensioned not only according to the vertical load capacity but also according to the seismic parameters of the region.
The practical result is that a system of the same bay capacity operating without problems in a low-risk province may require additional bracing, different upright profiles, or reinforced anchorage in Sakarya. For each project, static calculations are performed separately, and no quotation is given based on catalog capacities.
Prominent Systems in Sakarya Facilities
In automotive sub-industry facilities, carton flow rack systems are used for line-side feeding and order picking. Level heights are adjusted according to the operator's reach level, and high-turnover parts are placed on the waist-level band to shorten picking times.
In production facilities in organized industrial zones and distribution warehouses on the Karasu and Adapazarı line, pallet racking systems are designed according to pallet size, forklift type, and free height. Euro pallet 800x1200 mm and industrial pallet 1000x1200 mm sizes require different bay depths and beam spans; the number of levels is determined according to the ceiling level and sprinkler layout.
In wood products manufacturers and metal processing facilities on the Hendek and Akyazı line, long materials such as sheets, lumber, profiles, and pipes are stored with cantilever racking systems. Arm length and the distance between arms are determined according to the deflection behavior of the material.
In facilities where ceiling height cannot be used, mezzanine solutions increase the existing area to two or three levels. Press and injection molds are managed with mold racking systems, and warehouses with high stock turnover rates are managed with automated storage AS/RS applications. All system types are available on the racking systems page.

Design, Production, and Installation Process
The process begins with an on-site survey at the facility. Ground condition and flatness, column axes, free ceiling height, sprinkler and lighting layout, forklift type used, and pallet sizes are recorded. Based on these data, a layout plan and capacity calculation are prepared, followed by static calculation and technical drawing.
The approved project is produced in the facility in Muradiye OIZ, and installation is carried out on site by our own teams. Since the warehouse can be worked by dividing it into phases, installation can be completed without stopping the shipment and production flow of the enterprise. Load capacity labels and instructions for use are provided upon delivery. Scope; also includes expansion of existing systems, relocation to another facility, and replacement of damaged components.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Sakarya Racking Systems
Can the earthquake safety of our existing racks be checked?
Yes, it can. Upright profiles, anchorage conditions, bracing layout, and deformations in components are examined on-site and compared with the load carried. Based on the results, additional bracing, anchorage renewal, or replacement of damaged components is recommended. The evaluation is made during the site survey.
How is installation planned in a facility doing sequential feeding?
The warehouse is worked in phases, and the program is established according to the shift and shipping hours of the facility. First, the empty section is put into operation, the stock is moved gradually, and then installation continues in the emptied area. In this way, feeding to the main industry is not interrupted.
We manage raw materials and finished products in the same warehouse, is a single plan sufficient?
Yes, but load types must be defined separately. Since the weight, size, and turnover rate of raw materials and finished products are different, the bays are designed in separate groups, and the axis close to the shipping door is reserved for high-turnover stock.
What information should I prepare to get an offer?
Warehouse area and free ceiling height, pallet size and weight per pallet, targeted number of bays, forklift type used, and existing layout plan, if any, are sufficient. An initial assessment can be made with this information, and the final offer is generated after the site survey and static calculation.
Can you move our existing racks to our new warehouse?
After evaluating the type, age, load capacity, and deformation of the components of the system, it is possible to dismantle and reinstall it. If the floor strength, ceiling height, or column axes of the new facility are different, reinforcement or partial renewal may be required.
